Welcome - Come and see us.
Every Monday our doors open at 3.05pm and parents are very welcome to come into classes to see the English and Maths learning the children have been doing in school.
PE days are Thursday and Friday with a Forest School slot every three weeks - see below.
Homework every week for Holly class is Phonics and Reading.
Hazel and Chestnut - Phonics or Spellings plus additional optional extras that build on learning in class.
Homework for all classes if sent out on a Friday and due back in school the following Wednesday.
A homework club is run weekly on a Thursday for those who need additional time to complete it.
Reading at home - School asks that children read at least 4 times a week as part of their home learning. Reading diaries need to be signed and in school daily please. There is a school competition for the class with the highest percentage of children reading regularly - we are very keen to get the trophy in our corridor!
This half term our topic is 'The Land before Time' and we have been learning about dinosaurs! We have based our English work around the book 'Cave Baby' and are currently looking at writing non-chronological reports about dinosaurs.
After half term our topic will be 'Wonderful Weather' - within this topic we will be keeping our own weather diaries, finding out about the weather in the North and South Pole and in Science, finding out where to place a penguin in the classroom to keep it cool!
