Holly Class

Mrs Waters and Mrs Romasiuk

Be a Homework Hero - Children in Holly class have phonics homework each Friday and which needs to be completed and handed in each Wednesday. We expect children to read at least four times a week but ideally every day. Our project homework links to the topic we are doing in school - this homework is given out at the start of each topic and is due in at the end of each term to be displayed in the whole school exhibition.
PE - Every Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school.
Forest dates - We will be visiting the forest on Thursday 10th January; Thursday 31st January, Thursday 28th February, Thursday 21st March, Thursday 11th April. Please make sure your child has a pair of wellies, a long sleeved top, trousers, a hat and a warm coat in school.
Parent drop in - We hold weekly drop-in sessions for parents to look at books every Tuesday at 3.05pm. This gives you an opportunity to see the progress that your child is making, contribute to their learning and they will really enjoy showing you what they have been working on in school each week.

In Holly class we are finding out about the explorer Captain James Cook and making our own information books. In Maths, we are looking at number bonds to 10, every day day we are having a go at recalling all the pairs of numbers that make 10 through games and seeing if we can beat our scores.
