Holly Class are progressing well with their English and Maths

Our Year 1 children in Holly Class have recently been studying to retell the story ‘Peace at Last’ and have worked hard learning to write words and sentences from the story. Ask your child to tell you the story by using the pictures on the story map photo – they are really good at this now! In Maths, the group have started to use the cherry diagram to practise their ‘part-part-whole’, by partitioning and recombining five objects. Ask your child if they can remember their stem sentence! e.g. 2 is a part, 3 is a part and 5 is the whole!
